The United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) released its draft Biological Evaluations (BEs) for clothianidin, imidacloprid and thiamethoxam for public review and comment. These three substances are neonicotinoid insecticides It is used for various crops, lawns and ornamental plants, as well as other residential and commercial indoor and outdoor uses.
USEPA evaluated clothianidin, imidacloprid, and thiamethoxam to determine whether they would affect one or more species listed in the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and their designated key habitats.
The BEs draft found that these chemical pesticides may have adverse effects on some of the listed species or their designated key habitats.
